Neocolonialism

Neocolonialism is a term which describes to colonialism in the post-empire age.

Neocolonialism comprises the exercise of influence over another less-developed nations, areas or sectors by economic, language, cultural and political means rather than by the traditional colonialist methods of military-political take-over and direct control.

Cultural colonialism[?] may emasculate a nation through its education system[?] as well as other aspects of cultural life, including art, theatre, cinema and television. In this way, in some countries in Africa and the Philippines the official and learning languages[?] (French or English) are not the national languages[?] or the most spoken.

Through economic colonialism[?], one country can control another's economy. Multinational corporations as well as states can indulge in neocolonialism.
