My Country, Tis of Thee

"My Country, Tis of Thee" (also known as "America") is a American patriotic song, sung to the tune of God Save the Queen.

The most famous part of the lyrics run as follows:

 My Country, 'tis of thee,
 Sweet land of liberty,
 Of thee I sing.
 Land where my fathers died,
 Land of the pilgrim's pride,
 From every mountainside
 Let freedom ring.

The rest of the verses run:

 My native country, thee, 
 Land of the noble free, 
 Thy name I love. 
 I love thy rocks and rills, 
 Thy woods and templed hills; 
 My heart with rapture fills 
 Like that above. 

 Let music swell the breeze, 
 And ring from all the trees 
 Sweet freedom's song.

Ani Difranco wrote a parody of it, called 'Tis of Thee[?], which pointed out the flaws of US society, particularly the vast social and economic inqualities.
