David Horowitz

David Horowitz (born 1939), is a neoconservative American writer and social activist.

He was raised in a strict Stalinist family, and as a young man he was a radical Marxist supporter of the various leftist causes of the 60's and 70's. As the years went on however, Horowitz became very disinfranchished with some of the tactics of the American Left, especially after one of his close friends was murdered by the Black Panthers.

Horowitz's thinking began to slowly get more conservative, and today he has come full circle and is now regarded as a leading right wing advocate. This transition from a left-wing to a right-wing position is shared in common with many other neoconservatives.

He has written many books and panflets, including Radical Son[?], his autobiography. Together with Peter Collier[?] he wrote several best-selling biographies of prominent American families:
