The lists of books of the
Christian Old Testament and
Jewish Tanach compared. The
Protestant (
i.e non-R.C or E.O) Old Testament and the Tanach contain the same books, although in a different order. The Catholic Old Testament contains the "
apocryphal" books as well, and these are at the bottom, although not in the order presented in the Catholic (
Douay Bible[?]). The
Eastern Orthodox sect of Christianity has three additional books to the Catholic Bible.
- The two center columns hold the book numbers for each, respectively. The order for each column is preserved. To denote the different order of books; Asterisked, bold numbers represent the book number for that column that corresponds with the book name in the other Book.
